The so-called "Social Investment" approach has been a rort from the start when it began under Bill English.
It was always a fig leaf to pretend the Nats had a social conscience by promoting a relatively small amount of spending in a couple of social areas while making widescale cuts in others that they didn't own up to.
Maybe any wealth tax should steal and use the name social investment, a rebranding of the negative mindset around the word tax is required.

Five hundred Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines are ready to deploy and provide backup to the National Guard troops on the ground in L.A., U.S. Northern Command said this evening.
